150th ANNIVERSARY OF ITALIAN UNIFICATION
(1861 – 2011) declaration of 17th March.

The reason for creating this application lies in an awareness of the need to take the opportunity of such an important anniversary to build a fresh recognition of the essential features of our history and achievements.

Above all, this application is aimed at helping citizens of Italian extraction spread throughout the world (roughly 80 million according to the Scalabrinian Fathers) and at keeping up a relationship and emotional bond with them that is enormously important to the prosperity of our/their country.

The application includes:
- a chronological history,
- fun games and quizzes,
- the most important sites for information about united Italy.

The application is also a useful tool, 2011 being the European Year of Volunteering, for celebrating the anniversary of unification through a gesture of solidarity.

It includes essential information about Expo2015, ‘a challenge for all Italians’.

There is a fun chance to learn the national anthem, Fratelli d’Italia, by way of karaoke.
The application can also be used off-line and offers the chance to search through the chronological history of Italy.
